evening birdsong walk
Our resident bird champion has kindly arranged the following with Lewisham’s People and Rivers Project. The weather forecast is cloudy but as long as it doesn’t rain, we should be okay for hearing the birds.
the story tellers
Drums and masks set the scene for our story telling event last Saturday for our official opening. Finding a spot of shade, “Inpired Word” rose to the occasion with their story of Anansi the spider.
There were busy children and a few adults too making clay bugs and butterflies
at the other end of the playground.
Next Friends Meeting 8th June
Just a reminder that the next Friends Meeting is on Tuesday 8th June at 7.30.
We have someone from animal welfare attending and probably the green space regeneration manager from Lewisham.
It will be held as normal in the park keepers room at the top of the hill.

OFFICIAL OPENING
There will be the official opening of the playground during the Brockley Max event on Saturday 5th June.
We have arranged for a story teller for the under 8s from 12.30, probably doing two sessions over the following hour.
From 1pm we have arranged for a craft workshop.
We received funding for these events as part of our Changing Places grant from the Big Lottery.
The mayor turns up at 2pm.
Nearly there….
They were all back on site this Saturday, watering the grass and over seeding the gaps, making small adjustments to the timber work and sanding down. The rubber matting which goes over the grass and the gates are due next week. So fingers crossed for more rain to help the grass grow and deter late night revelers from rearranging the turf.
and just in case you forgot where we have come from…here is the scene last year.
